Harihareshwar

Konkan is dotted with some beautiful destinations and among them one is Harihareshwar. Just 175 kms from Pune Harihareshwar is one of the finest places in Maharashtra. This small place is famous for a temple on the sea shore and calm beaches. It is considered as one of the holiest places in India. Harihareshwar is surrounded by four hills and river Savitri flows through the town. People often consider this place as the Kashi of Southern India. Devghar is another name of this beautiful place because it is said that the place is blessed by Lord Vishnu. Other than a pilgrimage centre Harihareshwar possesses two unspoiled beaches one to the north and other to the south of the temple. On the first week of june, we paid our homage to Gongotri and visited a place named   Harsil, just 25 km before Gongotri.   Enroute to Gongotri this little paradise – Harsil set amidst the back drop of pine trees, apple orchad, snow capped mountain and Bhagirathi river. This hidden jewel of Uttarakhand allure tourists with peace and serenity in the lap of Himalaya.    I was never known about the place and it was a great surprise to me to spend the whole day in such a lovely place. We were mesmerized by the gushing Bhagirathi river, pine trees, chirping of birds, crimson rays of the sun amidst the peeping snow hills. Harsil is an amazing place to revivify one’s soul and indulge yourself to the ‘ celestial beauteousness’ of nature. It is a small hamlet and a cantonment area and the inhabitants of the place are Bhotiyas. Harsil is a best place for the trekkers and adventure seekers. It is the end of April and I am sure all travel enthusiasts are planning for their summer trip. Nothing can be  more  alluring than the lap of Himalaya during summer. Yes! And this mighty Himalaya offers tourists with innumerable destinations. Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Darjeeling are some summer attractions in India. A sudden turn on the Kotdwar-Pauri road brings you to Lansdowne, a beautiful hill stations in the Pauri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The heartland of wildlife Jim Corbatt National Park is one of the favourite haunting place for the wild life lovers. Named after the famous hunter Jim Corbett. It is one of the oldest national park in India situated in Nainital, Pauri Garwhal and Bijnore Districts of Uttrakhand. Covering 1318.54 sq. km. including 520 sq. km. of core area and 797.72 sq. km. of buffer area of which the core areas forms theCorbett National Park and the buffer contains the reserve forest.
